Sandra K. Lee

Chairperson / Chief Executive Officer  Ms. Lee graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. degree and also earned a R.N. diploma from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in New York City. As a fourth generation family member operating the business, she has been an insurance executive since 1981. She is a licensed property and casualty broker, life and health agent, Series 6 Registered Representative, and real estate broker in New York as well as many other states. Her insurance focus for the agency has been group benefits, personal lines, and the overall marketing strategy and expansion for Lee Insurance.

Ms. Lee has been active leader on the local, state, and federal levels. She was a Presidential appointee of the 1995 White House Conference for Small Business and continues to serve on the Small Business Administration Fairness Board and National Advisory Council. She was on the Governor's State Commission for a Healthy New York from 1989 to 1995. She was selected in 1995 as a David Rockefeller Fellow, which is awarded to senior executives with a strong civic commitment to New York City. She is a trustee of NYU Downtown Hospital and the Chinatown Health Clinic Foundation. In 2002, she was named in Crain's New York Business as one of the top 100 Most Influential Business Leaders in NY and in 2003, was named as one of the top 100 Most Powerful Minority Business Leaders in NY.

She has been the recipient of many civic, community, and business awards over the years and has served on several insurance industry councils for One Beacon, Travelers, Chubb and IIAA.



Stephen Boon

President  Mr. Boon is a graduate of Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration. After 13 years as a successful executive in the retail and garment industry, Mr. Boon joined Harold L. Lee & Sons, Inc. in 1978. He became a senior account executive specializing in property and casualty for middle market to large accounts, holding licenses as a property and casualty broker and life agent. In 1987, he was promoted to President of the firm and oversees the agency's property and casualty operations and financial institutions programs.

Mr. Boon holds leadership positions in several professional insurance associations that have earned him an outstanding reputation in the industry. He has served as the Financial Vice President of the Insurance Federation of New York and was a founder and recent past president of the Chinese American Insurance Association. During his tenure, he initiated a Scholarship Fund for Young Chinese American Insurance Professionals with St. Johns University/College of Insurance. He is an insurance advisor to many non-profit organizations and has managed insurance programs for municipal clients such as the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Senior Citizens HUD Housing Complexes, The Long Island Railroad, Metro-North and the MTA.

He has served on several industry producer councils and made presentations to carriers' senior level management on multi-cultural and emerging markets.

Jean Gee-Seto

Licensed Property & Casualty Broker / Licensed Claims Adjuster  Jean Gee-Seto has been working with Lee Insurance for over 30 years as a customer service representative, licensed insurance broker, licensed claims adjuster and now as Manager for Lee Insurance. She is bi-lingual in Chinese and English and has extensive loss control and claims experience. She oversees the agency's loss control programs and works extensively with engineering services of our carriers and independent contractors. She is also responsible for drafting and implementation of guidelines for the risk management of small businesses. She is experienced with working with the New York City Fire Department, New York City Police Department and city/state regulations regarding compliance, boiler and machinery, permits, inspections, etc.

Ms. Seto has been a key agency contact for our automation system, Applied Systems' WinTAM and its users group. She has trained with the Chubb Institute in automation, courses provided by PIA, Applied Systems and the College of Insurance. She oversees the staff development aspect of the agency, and continuing education.



Tim Jiang

Licensed Property & Casualty Broker  Tim Jiang has been a licensed insurance broker since 1998. Mr. Jiang joined Lee Insurance following a successful career in chemistry and academia. He attended the College of Insurance where he completed the property & casualty broker program. He has been an active producer and account executive working on the small business sector, as well as designing programs for mid- to large-size commercial accounts. He has also trained and supervised agency personnel in rating, loss control, and risk management techniques.

In 1996, he moved to New York and worked as a Senior Researcher in the private sector at Oncogene Science, Inc. on Long Island. He became interested in the business side of industry and gained experience in marketing and advertising to the Asian business market. At that point, his interest evolved to insurance where he trained to become a successful broker and an important part of Lee Insurance's commercial lines team.

Mr. Jiang is a graduate of Fudan University, Shanghai where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He then worked as a manager of several analysis laboratories in Hebei and Jiangsu Provinces in China. He has also held the posts of Associate Professor and Manager of NMR Laboratories at the prestigious Beijing Medical University. After moving to the United States, Mr. Jiang was a Visiting Scientist in Chemistry at Boston University.

Mr. Jiang is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Shanghainese dialects).



Eva Chan

Licensed Insurance Broker  Eva Chan acts as a broker in placing personal lines and commercial lines accounts and is an account executive for many major accounts. She has studied at St. John's University for the brokers course in Property and Casualty Insurance and has mastered our computer-based agency management system as a self-taught CSR. Her excellent people skills and background studies in pychology and sociology enable her to work well with clients and carriers.

Ms. Chan is a graduate of Queens College with a major in Psychology and Sociology. She has been involved in the insurance industry since 2000 when she initially worked as a customer service representative concentrating in auto insurance. Her background includes proficiency in office software applications. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Ms. Chan worked in the banking industry at Green Point Savings Bank and Chase Bank. By working in the financial services sector, Ms. Chan has gained knowledge in both banking and insurance. She is a leading member of the small business and personal lines teams of the agency.

Ms. Chan speaks several dialects of Chinese including Cantonese and Mandarin.



Derek D. Han

Licensed Property & Casualty Broker  Derek Han is a licensed Property & Casualty Broker in California as well as a Life/Health, Series 6 & 63 Agent and a Notary Public. Mr. Han has been in the insurance industry since 2002 when he joined State Farm and became a leading producer in its Emeryville (CA) office.

Mr. Han joined Lee Insurance in 2005 and is the lead broker in the Northern California branch office located in Albany. He has a broad client base of personal lines clients and small business owners. He is an active member of the Asian business community with strong ties to his ancestral Village Association of Hainan based in San Francisco.

Mr. Han grew up in San Francisco and currently lives in El Cerrito. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Business. He is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese dialects).



Angela Lee

Licensed Insurance Broker / Life/Health Agent  Angela Lee is a graduate of the University of California at Davis with a BA in International Relations and Art History. Prior to joining Lee Insurance in 2008, she had experience in administration, the arts, nonprofit organizations and working abroad in Japan. She has demonstrated insurance proficiency and knowledge and obtained her California fire/casualty and life/health insurance licenses after formal coursework and work experience at the agency. Ms. Lee is versed in computer applications for rating, proposal design and preparing marketing materials for the agency.

Ms. Lee is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversant in Japanese. She has volunteeered with alumni groups, Asian American organizations and nonprofit groups with leadership roles at several of these organizations. Ms. Lee is a member of the Asian Professional Network Association in the Bay Area.



Sherry Lin

Licensed Property & Casualty Broker  Sherry Lin worked in the insurance industry for 6 years as a customer service representative before becoming a Licensed Property & Casualty Broker. She is multi-lingual, speaking English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Taishanese.

Prior to immigrating to the United States, Ms. Lin was a hospital pharmacist in China. Her scientific background enables her to skillfully use computer technology for rapid processing of our insurance transactions. Prior to her work in insurance, Ms. Lin attended the Institute for Professional Studies where she became proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.



Quyen Truong

Licensed Insurance Broker / Life/Health Agent  Quyen Truong joined Lee Insurance in 2005 as a graduate of California State University at Hayward, California. She had previous work experience in the real estate field as an agent for Keller Williams in the East Bay. After joining Lee Insurance, Ms. Truong became a California licensed fire/ casualty and life/health agent. She serves as the broker administrator for the Berkeley/Albany office and supervises agency staff members and UC Berkeley work-study interns.

Ms. Truong is also an account executive in personal lines and small business commercial lines. Her background in real estate enables her to advise clients on home, dwelling, condo and umbrella coverage. She is bilingual in Cantonese Chinese and English.



Lisa Wu

Benefits Coordinator / Life/Health Agent  Lisa Wu is responsible for overseeing the life, health and benefits division of Lee Insurance. As the Benefits Coordinator, she is knowledgeable about medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, and individual life, long term care and travel insurance. Ms. Wu interfaces with dozens of carriers to provide plan designs for our employer group clients and she services the needs of their employees.

Before joining Lee Insurance, Ms. Wu worked at Commerce Bank in New York City and as a tutor for children. She graduated from Baruch College of the City University of New York with a B.A. degree in business and international marketing.






Jonathan Boon

Customer Service Representative Assistant  Jonathan Boon joined Lee Insurance in October, 2002 and is responsible for files, document storage, scanning and facilities management. His computer and data entry skills enable the agency to automate, go "paperless," integrate data bases for the file systems and create efficiencies for the agency.



Johnny Jun Fu Chen

Customer Service Representative  Johnny Chen graduated from Baruch College of the City University of New York with a degree in business administration. He is an experienced insurance rater in personal and commercial lines and serves as a customer service representative specializing in certificate issuance, endorsements and preparation of account proposals and presentations.

Mr. Chen immigrated from Taishan, China when he was a high school student and is fluent in many Chinese dialects including Taishanese, Cantonese, Fukienese and Mandarin. Mr. Chen has taken property and casualty insurance pre-licensing courses at the College of Insurance of St. John's University.



Pui Ching

Customer Service Representative / Accounting Assistant  Pui Ching is a graduate of Baruch College of the City of New York. In college, Ms. Ching majored in graphic design and computer graphics and she currently utilizes these skills at Lee Insurance to create marketing and promotional materials. Although a native of New York City, Ms. Ching speaks fluent Cantonese Chinese and works directly with our English and Chinese speaking clients. Ms. Ching is currently taking insurance licensing courses at the College of Insurance at St. John's University.



Jean Moy

Customer Service Representative / Bookkeeper  Jean Moy oversees the accounting area of Lee Insurance as a bookkeeper and customer service representative and has been with the company for over thirty years. She has taken courses at the College of Insurance and is proficient in Applied Systems- WINTAM and Microsoft applications. Her meticulous work and attention to detail keep the agency current and exemplary according to carriers. She is bi-lingual and able to multi-task by working on fiscal reporting for management, assisting customers with billing issues and premium payment and reconciling carrier statements.





Lloyd Cheu

Board Member  Mr. Cheu is a Strategic Planner specializing in helping companies develop and manage growth of new and existing businesses. After receiving his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Cheu pursued graduate studies at the Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, resulting in a Masters of Business Administration. His experience covers finance, marketing, and business development for a broad range of industries including finance, entertainment, media, e-commerce and consumer products.

Mr. Cheu was Vice President for Strategic and Business Planning for VitaminShoppe.com after working at Children's Television Workshop where he helped launch and manage its online business, ctw.org. This experience involved marketing & branding strategy, product licensing, TV/video, print media and software development. He gained broad business foundation from his work in investment banking at ORIX USA and at Marine Midland Bank/Public Financial Management, where he served as the financial advisor to municipal governments and agencies.

Mr. Cheu is active in many organizations supporting the arts and currently sits on the board of Second Generation Theatre Company as Vice-Chairman.



Linda Lee Hsiao

Board Member  Ms. Hsiao provides support for the firm's computer technology systems. She is a graduate of Smith College and is the Financial Officer and Principal of Microcomputer Interfaces, Inc. of Chapel Hill, NC. Her business management skills in this computer consulting firm have positioned Ms. Hsiao to lend valuable technical assistance to Lee Insurance.

She has been active in community and civic activities in the Research Triangle Area by serving as a County Leader in the Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council. She has been a trustee of the Smith College Club of North Carolina where she led the organization as President for several years.



Arnold Kawano

Managing Director / Board Member  Mr. Kawano serves as chief financial, legal and information technology officer for Lee Insurance. After twenty years as a successful corporate and real estate attorney as well as investment banker, Mr. Kawano joined Lee Insurance to lead the firm's transition to a new technology system for insurance production and financial analysis. 

Mr. Kawano holds a BS degree from Columbia University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude as well as a J.D. degree from Columbia Law School. His legal experience includes working at the Wall Street firms of Reid & Priest (now Thelen Reid & Priest LLP) and Weil, Gothal & Manges LLP. He was the first in-house attorney for Sumitomo Corporation of America, a leading Japanese trading company, and ORIX USA Corporation, a financial services company, where he was General Counsel and Senior Vice President.  Prior to joining ORIX, Mr. Kawano was a Vice President at JPMorgan where he worked as an investment banker in the Corporate Finance/Real Estate Department. 

Mr. Kawano is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the International Wine Law Association. He is admitted to the practice of law in New York and the District of Columbia.



Douglas Lee

Board Member  Mr. Lee acts as a senior advisor on strategic planning and other business issues. He has served the firm in that capacity since 1989. Mr. Lee has had a successful twenty year career in the entertainment business as a senior executive for major media companies specializing in strategic growth opportunities and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a BA degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley and a JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. His business acumen and media experience have been a valuable resource to Lee Insurance.

Mr. Lee's extensive career began at WNEW-TV, Channel Five as an Editor/Newswriter. From there Mr. Lee spent seven years at Home Box Office (HBO) where he developed and launched Cinemax, Festival and the Comedy Channel cable television networks. He then moved to 20th Century Fox Film Corporation where he organized the successful 1993 acquisition of STAR-TV, the leading satellite television provider in Asia. His most recent positions have been at Children Television Workshop where as a Senior Vice President, he was responsible for CTW's successful entry into the cable television channel business and as CEO of CRIME.COM, a website he conceived of and founded. Ultimately CRIME.COM was acquired by USA Cable. 

Mr. Lee currently is an Executive Vice President with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. and heads its newly created New Media division where he oversees MGM's digital distribution strategy. He also spearheads the studio's broadband and wireless efforts and new digital media growth.



Marie Chan Lee

Board Member  Marie Chan Lee is also a licensed real estate salesperson. Mrs. Lee became active in the firm after her husband, Andrew P. Lee, the firm's founder, passed away in 1989. Prior to her joining the firm, Mrs. Lee was active in numerous civic and volunteer activities for organizations such as the NYU-Downtown Hospital and the Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts. Since joining the firm, Mrs. Lee has remained an active volunteer and is an Executive Board member of the China Institute Women's Association and is past president of that organization.

Mrs. Lee is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where she was awarded a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts.
